I always felt Catherine Zeta-Jones to be too curvy to be an Anorexic, but the rumors are flying, especially since she just lost a great deal of weight. She’s crediting her weight loss to (what else) diet and exercise.
The actress told PEOPLE she laughed when her husband, Michael Douglas, informed her that reports had surfaced suggesting she had an eating disorder. “Michael was laughing at me. He told me what [people had] said – that stories say I’m anorexic. Do I look anorexic?” she told PEOPLE Saturday at the Savannah Film Festival. “How could I ever, ever be anorexic?”
The actress, who joined her husband and their two children, Dylan, 7, and Carys, 4, at the Savannah College of Art and Design’s 10th Annual Savannah Film Festival where Douglas was given a Lifetime Achievement Award for acting, said that her eating habits have simply changed a little.
In the past she was a “bread girl,” she said, adding, “I looooove bread.”? But these days, “I’m just working out and not chomping down what I usually chomp down.”
Zeta-Jones, wearing a black strapless dress at a festival afterparty, said she’s concerned about the attention on women’s weight. “There are many women [who are] maybe a little fragile, and it becomes a huge issue.”
I agree with her there. Too many emaciated women are considered role models, and our teens are sticking their fingers down their throats for fear they may appear too fat. We need to focus on the stars with a little junk in the trunk and discuss their beauty, not the stick figures.
Catherine Zeta-Jones laughs off rumors of being a diva and claims she’s shy and insecure instead.
“There is a much shyer quality to me that people don’t usually see.
“I get perceived as ‘Here comes the showgirl’, when in fact I have my insecurities. I’m a lot more reserved than I let on”.
Mmm hmmm.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas were playing golf when the “Chicago” star spotted a rattle snack. Shouting for her husband not to move, she swung her golf club sending the snake flying and killing it in the process.
Now that’s love. I’m not sure my husband would be so fortunate.
