Does anyone else wish Dr. Phil would just shut up? He continues to talk about Britney Spears every chance he get. If he really wanted to put all this behind him, he’d stop agreeing to these interviews.

Dr. Phil got the chance to set the record straight on Good Morning America. He’s still smarmy. He said he only "regrets" making the statement because it "didn’t work". In other words no one looked at him as a hero. And Diane Sawyer asked him some good questions regarding client-patient confidentiality thing, which he didn’t quite address, he more or less tap danced.
Dr. Phil said he didn’t reach out to Britney since he blind sided her in the hospital and that he didn’t try to apologize to her because he doesn’t have access to her. What? He couldn’t send her a card of flowers. I call bullshit.

So Dr. Phil is trying to do damage control. As you’re sure to recall, he blindsided looney Britney Spears at the hospital and then issued a statement regarding her condition, pissing off her family. He also pissed off legions of shrinks, hospital employees and America’s television viewing public who could smell a ratings ploy from miles away. So now the good doctor’s doing damage control and says he regrets making a statement.
Lots of back and forth going on regarding the Spears family and Dr. Phil. The hospital says Britney was blind sided by Dr. Phil and that he’s only trying to gain ratings for his talk show. Dr. Phil says he’s not a ratings-whore and the Spears family invited him to ambush Britney. Now the Spears family are lodging their latest volley. They’re saying they were betrayed by the talk show host.
