Janet Jackson was hospitalized for “shortness of breath” late last night, Us Magazine is reporting. Her rep says she’s doing fine and just battling the flu.

Jermain Dupri doesn’t think it’s a very good idea for Janet Jackson to be associated with her brother Michael. He also feels Janet should be recording her own music instead of touring with her family.

“Janet said she would be willing to participate in a few select shows next year, but [her fiancé] Jermaine Dupri is holding her out of it. He wants Janet to go back in the studio and record another album, and he’s also wary of having her be associated with Michael because he’s gotten such bad press and is just freaky.”

Can’t really blame him for that. La Toya’s probably looking for work about now. Bet she’d do it.
