Mel Gibson’s son in rehab

Mel Gibson’s 25 year old son is in rehab for substance abuse. Edward Gibson checked into the Cri-Help clinic in California in late September and is refusing visitors. A source says, “He’s very self-conscious and finds it difficult to speak about his background, which is thwarting his recovery.”
The source also mentions Edward sought help because he was afraid he’d get behind the wheel and kill someone. He also cut ties to friends and family hoping to do this on his own. He told a pal, ‘I know my dad loves me, but this is something I have to do by myself for myself. My dad is just going to have to chill.’”
