Page Six is reporting that Jive Records set up a $500.000 video shoot for Britney complete with with high priced producer, set and dancers. At the last minute, as usual, Britney decided she wasn’t going to do it. Finally she came about 12 hours late after she learned Jive would give the video shoot, originally intended for Britney’s “Pieces of Me” single, to an up and coming talent.
“Britney was supposed to shoot a video for her song ‘Pieces of Me’ last Tuesday at Social Hollywood,” a well-placed Jive insider told Page Six.
“Jive hired Wayne Isham to direct, had all the dancers there - hair, makeup and everything,” our source added. “But she refused to come. Jive was really upset. They were already paying everyone overtime, and finally Britney showed up 12 hours late - but only after they told her they were going to give the video shoot to another Jive artist, Samantha Jade.”
That’s a smart move on Jive’s part. On the one hand, they’re letting Britney know she can be replaced. On the other hand, rather than waste $500,000 they had a backup plan.
“They were going to recalibrate it for Samantha, because it was too expensive to just scrap,” our source said. “Britney finally showed up when she realized a new, younger, hotter girl would take her slot.”
This is what Britney needs to get her act together. Less enablers and more people letting her know her behavior is unacceptable and won’t win her any favors.
Rock on, Jive.
