I know I’ve been lax in reporting the Britney Spears news, so sorry. So, even though you probably read it all elsewhere (That’s right, DMP, don’t think I know you’re not sneaking off the People.com website), I’ll give you the Reader’s Digest version here. She did more in less than 24 hours than I do in a month:
“As parents of an adult child in the throws (sic) of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe. We are deeply concerned about our daughter’s safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court’s orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted.”
Here’s the thing. Why do we know so much about all this? How is Britney supposed to get better when the paps are still swarming and we’re writing about every move she makes? The girl can’t sneeze without someone taking note. That can’t make it easy.
It’ll be interesting to see if Jamie can extend the conservatorship. Clearly he wants to be an active and important influence in her life and keep away the bad elements. Let’s hop the judge finds grounds.
