Britney Spears turned down the opportunity to do an interview and cover shoot with Rolling Stone because they won’t guarantee her photos and words won’t appear in Us Magazine instead of Rolling Stone. Apparently Nick Lachey did an interview with Rolling Stone and was pissed to learn it appeared in Us instead.
“It was going to be a good platform for her music to be taken seriously because it had been so long. But she refused to get screwed by Wenner,” said our source. “They kept negotiating, and it got nasty.” Spears has contacted Blender magazine, and a deal is being worked out for a cover there, said the source. A rep for Rolling Stone said they were “exploring a cover” but never had a discussion about any kind of contract.
Sounds like a smart move on Britney’s part. Her best bet is to steer clear of the tabloids if she wants people to focus on her music. I wonder though if she can really be taken seriously as an artist at this point?

Britney needs to focus on her mental health and being a mother to those boys. The more she keeps being seen in public and putting out raunch music & poor videos, the less chance she will regain her career. She is simply a laughing stock at this point.
