Up and coming country star Buck Jones, 33, was struck along an interstate service road in Texas, officials reported on Sunday.
The driver of the vehicle is currently being held on intoxicated manslaughter charges.
Jones released an album in 2005 entitled “Lucky Star,” and he was expected to continue climbing the ranks of fame. That abruptly came to an end however when Jones was struck from behind by a vehicle on Saturday.
It appears that Buck Jones had blown a tire and was walking along the side of the road so roadside assistance crews could find him and repair his vehicle.
Jones and his guitarist were on their way to a party, where they were expected to perform that day.
