Criss Angel Plans Times Square Escape Stunt

May 23rd, 2007

Criss Angel, the mastermind behind the massively popular “Criss Angel Mindfreak” television program on A&E plans to try an amazing feat.

Next month, Angel plans to channel Houdini by being suspended in a concrete cube 40 feet above the ground near Times Square and attempt to escape. If he fails to escape within a 24 hour time period, the concrete cube will plummet to the ground.

The stunt will begin June 4th and is designed to promote the third season of Angel’s television show. The network plans to take over a parking lot, where guests and passersby can stop and view the action.

The stunt sounds crazy in and of itself, but add to the mix that Angel will be shackled within the cube and things get a little… scary.

But as Angel himself puts it:

“If you’re not scared of death, what is there to fear?”
