The Daily Telegraph is reporting Matilda may not be Heath Ledger’s first child. Family members are claiming he fathered a child out of wedlock when he was in his teens. This means, of course, a fight for inheritance complete with paternity tests.
According to the report, when Heath was 17 he was fooling around with an older woman who was living with another man. Towards the end of that affair, the woman found out she was pregnant - and there’s 50/50 chance Heath is the father.
Of course this was all conveniently kept secret until after Heath died. It’s funny how thoughts of someone else’s millions all of a sudden makes one thing one’s deserving of an inheritance. Especially since Heath himself wasn’t aware he fathered another child.
Said a source within Heath’s family, "She had the baby. Everyone lived under the assumption that she was the daughter of the mother’s boyfriend and that is how she has been brought up." Why wonder about paternity now?
