Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Racist Remarks

November 1st, 2007

Is Dog the Bounty Hunter a racist? The National Enquirer claims “yes” and has the tape to back it up.

In a shocking world exclusive The ENQUIRER has obtained tapes of two revolting phone conversations in which Duane “Dog” Chapman unleashes a filthy bigoted attack, littered with the N-word and other disgusting racial insults.

The star of the A&E reality show Dog, The Bounty Hunter directed his racist hatred at his son Tucker’s girlfriend Monique Shinnery, who is black.

This all caught the attention of civil rights leader Roy Innis who said the popular bounty hunter shouldn’t even have his own show.

“This man should not be held up as a role model for children,” Innis told The ENQUIRER. “He has venom deep in his soul. This is a picture of his heart — a revelation of his true nature.

Innis also feels the A&E network should hold Dog accountable for his actions and ax his show.

He needs to answer for his behavior,” says Innis.

“When someone gets the opportunity to use the airwaves, he becomes a role model, whether he likes it or not. Dog Chapman should not be in that position, posing as a good guy.

“His comments show that he certainly is not a good guy.”

Arts & Entertainment released the following statement:

“A&E has just learned of the story released by the National Enquirer concerning Duane Dog Chapman. We take this matter very seriously. Pending an investigation, we have suspended production on the series. When the inquiry is concluded we will take appropriate action.”

Dog’s supporters are fierce and loyal and are sure to say all of this is some mistake. Listen for yourself.

GET OVER YOURSELF DOG, YOUR SHOW ONLY HAD A GOOD SEASON LEFT B4 BEING CANCELLED. AS FOR THE HAWAIIANS, I WOULD THROUGH DOG’S ASS OUT OF THE COUNTRY. IF HE TALKS LIKE THAT ABOUT BLACKS IMAGINE HIS REFERENCE TO HAWAIIANS!!!!

I have read all the comments, and find them absurd, dont you people realize that as long as we use remarks such as these to communicate , nothing will ever change. 90% of whites hate blacks, 90% of blacks hate whites, thats a fact. Until we can all learn to love our fellow mankind, this will always exist. Most of the responses here resemble the very same kind of hate that continues to separate us all. my plea is that we all laydown the hate and begin to love each other, before we destroy the world. LEARN TO LOVE < before its too late!!!

I love reading a comment that it is a “fact” that only 10% of us black folk don’t hate white folk.. Seriously.. It is a shame that Dog felt the need to use such harsh language and make race a factor in judging who his son dates. Yeah he has a right to his own opinion just like everyone who is offended has a right to be offended. I appreciate his quick apology and wonder about the fate of the show because it is a pretty good series.

All people are racist; he just got caught.

The simple fact of acknowledging someone’s racial difference, automatically places a set of values you believe to be true about them. Some are accurate; some aren’t… it’s just reality, so get over it.

Just because someone calls me a racial slur; doesn’t suddenly transform me into their idea of what I should be.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but apparently words will destroy your whole damn career!

I guess Dog Chapman isn’t entitled to have a bad day, get upset and say something stupid, or otherwise be a human being. Let’s be honest; we’re all capable of such screw-ups. And it’s pretty obvious by the fact he was taped in such a sneaky fashion, that it was all a set-up of sorts.

But hell, Dog’s had it so easy since Mexico tried to extradite him, he was thrown in prison, his daughter was killed, etc. etc. Why not finish the job that Mexico couldn’t? Let’s back his punk son, and take this man down!

After all those thousands of captures, all the people he has saved, and all the work he did to become famous and successful, including all the trials he faced in the Year Of The Dog, he’s now fighting for his life once again!!

But my question to his detractors is; how many of you people who are condemning him for his ill-thought words, have uttered the very same ones in private? In a private conversation with a family member, as he thought he was doing. Imagine if you had been ILLEGALLY taped without your knowledge?

I have thought it over, and I’ve decided that I will be sticking by the Dog. I really think his anger got the better of him. And countless good deeds should not all be erased by one bad day.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone!

    THINK ABOUT IT!

  12. HardBoiled on November 2, 2007 2:16 pm

Yeah this is such BS..His son is a shit head..If he has an issue with his Dad, it needs to be worked out with in the family..You just dont stab your own Dad in the back like that.
This was a private conversation, not something he said on the Air, or to someones face.
But some Black “Artists” can Rap and call eveyone Bitchs and Niggers and Hos..and thats just fine ..As a matter a fact Lets pay them to do it..What a double standard.
This Guy Saved a bunch of people, talks about God and has been through a ton of crap.. Makes a comment that was not to be heard by anyone else, and they want to hang him for it…
Nice…Now thats the Devil at work for you…

I am tired of hearing the “N” word period…I don’t care “who” says it, it’s a stupid word and shows that the person has a limited vocabulary, in fact, I especially hate it when other young black people let it spew out of their mouths. I have listened to stories from my parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles about going through the civil rights movement and how their lives were filled with the constant struggle to be respected. I blame a lot of today’s youth just as much as I blame any “racist”. They say it so much as if the word is exceptable, as if to show “camaraderie” (amoung blacks that is…) Yes there is a double standard…and a stupid one at that. (Just like the double standard that it’s “natural” for men to like sex, but if a woman likes sex she must be some kind of ho!)

Dog is “old school” so I’m not surprised that the word came out of his mouth. I think it came out just like someone would say “stupid ass!”, “prick!”, “bitch!”, etc… Our society clings to “all” stereotypes because they’re easy and familiar. And it especially embarrasses me that the people who are quick to call the race card usually aren’t “exemplary” individuals themselves.

Until I “see” a definite pattern of racist behavior from Dog, I don’t believe he’s truly racist. I simply view it as an ignorant “slip of the tongue.” Something we ALL (myself included) are guilty of. (But usually we are able to crash, burn and learn without thousands of people knowing about it!) As far as his son. What he did was deceitful and disrespectful. He went about the situation with no class or dignity.

Class, dignity and respect seem to be too “old- fashioned” for many people in today’s society…what a shame.

  14. disappointed on November 4, 2007 2:55 pm

damn, I was typing so fast I used the wrong word… I meant “acceptable”, not exceptable!…. I did learn something in college! ; )

  15. sissy Johnson on November 6, 2007 12:59 pm

Oh Big Deal! I heard the tape and I duplicated what he was saying. He doesn’t want someone twisting his words around. He’s a former con and street guy, of course he uses the word nigger, it’s steet talk. The word doesn’t even have the same meaning it did ten years ago. I watched one of his shows and he was obviously high on something during that show. Nobody seemed to care about that. I didn’t. It’s his life. If A&E wants to cancel his show he can produce it himself and keep all the profits. But he has speny his career being a cop. And now all the nasty little cops and judges will come after him. It’s a karma thing. But I think he’ll roll with the puch. He’s not exactly a whimp.
Whoeve is the source of this madness certainly was trying to desroy him and it’s better for him to know about it.

  16. sissy Johnson on November 6, 2007 1:40 pm

Rick, speak for yourslef when you say 90% of whites hate blacks. 90% of blacks hate whites. You must live in some remote backwoods part of the planet.
