Dorothy Hamill is Battling Breast Cancer

1976 Olympic figure skating gold medalist, and one of the most famous figure skaters ever, Dorothy Hamill, is being treated for breast cancer.

In a statement released yesterday, Hamill said she is being treated at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore and will miss some of her "Broadway on Ice" tour dates. Dorothy Hamill’s prognosis is good and she hopes to rejoin the tour in mid-January.

Dorothy Hamill was my idol in 1976 and 1977. I had my hair cut like hers for years. Unfortunately, that’s where the similarities end. If I’m on the ice I spend more time on my ass than my feet. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
