Fox Protests “O.J. Simpsons” Parody
It appears that online video hub Broadcaster.com has drawn the protests of 20th Century Fox for their internet parody of “The Simpsons.”
Broadcaster Inc.’s parodies include three video clips of “The O.J. Simpson’s,” a parody that re-imagines the popular Fox series with O.J. Simpson as the star.
The company is reviewing Fox’s demands, but believes they are safe under the fair-use doctrine, which protects parodies.
The three animated clips are titled “Black and White Christmas,” “Warzone,” and “If I Did It” which is an obvious reference to Fox’s decision to forgoe publishing O.J. Simpson’s book about how he would have committed the murders of his ex-wife and Ron Goldman.
It remains to be seen how this case will play out in court (if it gets that far.)
