Jared "The Subway Guy" Fogle’s Ex-Wife Takes Him to the Cleaners
Looks like Jared “The Subway Guy” Fogle better start pimping some more subs. His wife is getting more than 60% of his assets.
Apparently Elizabeth Fogle, who married Jared when he was a big guy, stuck with him through “thick and thin.” Once he became “The Subway Guy” he grew an ego and became a total ass at home. “He loves being a celebrity, but I think Jared’s become too controlling and seems to have a bit of a mean streak in him,” said an insider. Soon he was berating her in public, “Jared has season tickets to the Indianapolis Colts games,” continued the insider. “On some occasions, he’d argue with Elizabeth at the games, and she’d be crying.”
The pair separated in 2006 with their divorce becoming final in October 2007. In the settlement, Elizabeth received $230,000 from the company Jared set up for his personal appearances, Jared Fogle, Inc. She’ll also get 60% of the proceeds from his book deal with St. Martin’s Press.
Ok wait…editor’s note here. Is there really going to be a Jared book? A “How I Lost Weight on the Subway Diet?” What’s going to be here that we already don’t know? Jared ate turkey sammiches for a year. Big effing deal. I have a much more interesting diet, how much is that worth too you? Poor Elizabeth. 60% of a boring book might not get her much coin. Good thing she’s also getting 60% of from the sale of their home, their Volvo, and “substantial” portions of their investments and retirement accounts.
And Jared? He’s moved on. Has a new girlfriend and everything.
