John Ritter’s family is seeking $68 million in damages claiming negligence resulted in his death.
John’s family claims two doctors who treated him just before his death are liable. Even though John Ritter passed away in 2003, his widow Amy Yasbeck feels the doctor who read the results of his body scan in 2001 is partly to blame. Additionally, a second doctor who treated John the night he died is also being sued.
"You can’t treat my kid’s dad for something and kill him in the process.. I think the money will show how angry the jury will be about what happened to John and what could happen to them," Yasbeck says of the lawsuit.
Attorneys for the doctor insist their clients are not guilty of any wrongdoing. "I really, really believe that for whatever reason, John Ritter’s time was up." said Stephen C. Fraser, an attorney for one of the doctors.
As of this writing John Ritter’s family received over $14 million in settlements including $9 million from the hospital where he died.
Sounds to me like someone needs to stop suing and look for a job.
ummm yeah…..the medical system is already a mess with high cost and poor care. People sueing like this only makes is worse. ugh…….
