The Professional Golf Association announced yesterday that Justin Timberlake will take over as host of their yearly event in Las Vegas.
The inaugural Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will take place Oct. 13-19 at the famed TPC-Summerlin course, with the Justified Grammy winner scheduled to play in an Oct. 15 celebrity Pro-Am that precedes the 72-hole tournament and host a concert sometime during the week.
“We will make sure to make this event unique and memorable, and we will raise money for charity while participating in the greatest game ever played,” said Timberlake, who added that he “couldn’t be more excited” to be hosting the upcoming event. “I thank the PGA Tour and the Shriners Hospitals for Children for this amazing opportunity. Raising money to better children’s lives while playing golf? I can’t think of a better way to pass the time.”
Golf Digest ranked celebrity golf players and JT came in a surprising 15th. Really, I didn’t know he was into golf, shows you how much I follow what’s going on with him. Oh and look, he’s also a “fixture” at the PBA’s annual pro-am event. Well, who knew?
