Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman’s son taped the phone conversation where Dog went on his racist tirade and sold it to the National Enquirer for a lot of money, Dog’s lawyer told the press yesterday.
“I guess because of whatever level of anger he had of his father, he felt the need to express it in that manner,” attorney Brook Hart told The Associated Press.
Well that may be, but let’s not gloss over what led him to do this in the first place. Here’s what I think. I think someone who “isn’t racist” wouldn’t use the “N” word at all ever. No matter what the context. You can’t you’re not a racist if this is a normal part of your vocabulary. There’s no gray area.
I also think that for Dog’s son to tape the conversation, Dog’s had to have had more than one of these tirades. Do I think Dog’s son was right in selling the tape? Not really, families need to work out their differences in private. However, Dog is someone who deals with people of other races on a regular basis. He also has very staunch supporters. Someone who is on television every week has an obligation to be a responsible role model. Maybe it’s a good idea we see his true colors.

Quit playing both sides of the issue. Why is Dog’s use of the word “nigger” any different from Snoop Dogg’s or 50-Cent’s lyrics?
The word either needs shunned and reviled by all or placed further into acceptance by the mainstream due to the influence from popular culture/rap music.
OH PLZ, Dont even try and make the same comparrison!!! Own it, he said the racist remarks and seem to me like he has a problem with “BLACK”ppl. He gets on his show and try to be all Godly by saying his lil prayers. That is all a bunch of bull. he is jut putting on a show for the cameras!! “GODLY” ppl love ALL!!!!! So u need to get a grip!!

It’s not the problem that he said the word. It’s how he used it in reference to His son’s girlfriend. White people use the the word as a HATE term & to degrade a whole race of people. Black people use the term as camaraderie. THERE’S A DIFFERENCE. I’M BLACK. I DID LOVE the DOG, but I don’t care for racist people. So He won’t get my LOVE any more, and right-on to his Son, love and date whoever makes you happy.
As long as black folks continue to use the word, it’s not going to go away.

The N word. Man I am soooo tired of black people being sooo sensitve of that word. The N word means a person who is black AND of LOW character (a thief, liar, etc.). Not just black! (If you get called that, better check your character!) Also, when it is used, it is intended for whom you are speaking about or to. Geez get over it! I use the B word too for those who are one! And no, I am not a racist. I don’t care what color you are if you are a kind and morale person. Just call it like I see it.
