I admit it. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan. I don’t get the whole have to be the first person to see the move or read the book thing, myself, though. What’s the difference if you see it today or wait a couple of weeks until the lines die down? I guess I’m old and out of touch, but I wouldn’t stay up until three a.m. just to say I was the first one to see the movie. But I digress…
The midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix brought in $12 million. Mind you, that’s only the midnight showing. This total surpassed the previous tally for a opening night, midnight showing Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, which came in at $8 million.
