A few months back we told you how Morgan Spurlock, the documentarian behind "Supersize Me" was generating huge buzz with his latest endeavor "Where in the World is Osama bin Laden." At the time, he was playing interested parties only a 15 minute bit of the documentary, which was enough to set off a bidding war. The speculation was that Morgan found some thing big. Big, I tell you, and all would be revealed at Sundance.
So at the time it got me thinking. If Morgan Spurlock did indeed find Osama bin Laden, would he really wait months to reveal it at Sundance? We’re talking public enemy number one, surely news that good couldn’t wait. Especially when one considers the damage bin Laden can do in the meantime.
Indeed, no news is good news. Though Morgan created a ginormous buzz around his movie, he didn’t find Osama bin Laden at all. Not even close. The movie’ll probably do well though.
