Falling ill during filming of the popular reality show “The Simple Life,” Nicole Richie was briefly hospitalized on Friday afternoon, sources say.
She was first examined by a doctor on-set, but was then rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Apparently, treatment didn’t consist of much - Richie was given intravenous fluids for 15 minutes and left soon afterwards. According to those who treated her, Richie was suffering from a case of dehydration.
When Richie announced back in October that she was seeking medical treatment for her seeming inability to put on weight, many have remained abreast of her current physical state and how she seems to be responding to treatment.
For what it’s worth, her rep was quoted as saying that “[she’s] very proud of the weight that Nicole is gaining.” She also wants to make it clear that Richie is not seeking treatment for an eating disorder.
This year will mark the fifth season of Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton’s hit television show “The Simple Life.”
