Steve Irwin Will Live On in Daughter’s TV Show
According to the Discovery Kids Channel, Bindi Irwin, the 8-year old daughter of Steve Irwin will launch her television show in June. Her father will be appearing in some episodes.
Steve Irwin and Bindi began filming the cable television show in early 2006. The show, entitled “Bindi: The Jungle Girl” was designed to garner more children’s interest in wildlife conservation.
While intended to be a father-daughter show, the sudden death of “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin last September (due to a serrated stingray barb that pierced his heart) changed the plans.
Despite the tragedy, Bindi and her mother Terri decided to continue filming the show, despite allegations and heated arguments that Terri Irwin was attempting to rush Bindi too quickly into show business following her father’s death.
Bindi denies the allegations and says she “just wants to continue [her] father’s legacy.”
The show will debut later this summer, with Bini perched high in her tree house in the rainforest while her parents drop in to share stories about wildlife.
