No doubt Spider-Man 3 and Shrek the Third set opening day box office records during their debut, but most people believe the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise will set further records this summer.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” opens Friday in theaters across the globe. The franchise has so far grossed over 1 billion dollars for Walt Disney Co. and sold over 40 million DVDs and videos.
According to sources, advance ticket sales for the film are pretty close to the blockbuster Spider-Man 3, but because of it’s excessive length, that might affect the film’s overall total.
Whatever the case may be, there’s no doubt that the third “Pirates” will be the biggest movie during Memorial Day opening weekend.
