You know the Heath Ledger drug video ET Insider wanted to show? The one that didn’t show Heath doing drugs at all? Well, ET released a statement saying they wouldn’t show the video out of respect for Heath’s family, but that’s not what happened at all. They received such pressure from Hollywood they just couldn’t show it.
Powerful publicists threatened to withdraw access to big stars if the video aired. Some celebrities including Sarah Jessica Parker and Natalie Portman called ET and asked them not to air the video.
The video was reputed to be damaging to Heath’s memory because he was in attendance at a party at Chateau Marmont where drugs were prominently displayed, but the fact is, Heath didn’t take any of the drugs. Moreover, the preview showed Heath saying how he used to smoke 5 joints a day. What they didn’t show was him pointing to a tattoo of the letter "M" for his daughter Matilda, and saying how that was a reminder for him to stay away from drugs.
Maybe now ET will think twice before it tries to ruin the reputation of someone who didn’t do anything wrong. It should be added here that no illegal drugs were found inside of Heath Ledger’s body after his death, and it’s being hinted he may have died of natural causes.
Shame on ET! As a gossip blogger I know it’s one thing to run with a story or rumor and play it up for all it’s worth, but to knowingly paint a false picture just for ratings is low.

They did enough damage by showing the trailer. Shame on them indeed.
